Day 4: Soto de Luina to Cadavedo

Day 4: Soto de Luina to Cadavedo

We enjoyed a taste of a “Gucci Camino” at our beautiful Hotel Valle Las Luina last night. When we were leaving in the morning, we saw that we weren’t the only pilgrims enjoying a little luxury. A group of eight were setting off at the same time. There was even a taxi waiting outside to transport backpacks. Nice! We had walked just over a kilometre when we came to a split in the trail and had to make a choice:…

Day 3: Muros de Nalon to Soto de Luina

Day 3: Muros de Nalon to Soto de Luina

What a wonderful time we had at Fali’s Albergue de Peregrinos in Muros de Nalon last night. Day 1: Aviles to Salinas

Day 1: Aviles to Salinas

Dave and I couldn’t resist the aroma wafting out of a  beautiful bakery as we made our way to the bus depot in Oviedo this morning. Our yummy breakfast included a piece of cheesecake with our café con leche, freshly squeezed orange juice, and chicken empanadas! What a perfect way to start the day! 👍🏼 😋  Then off we went to the bus station to catch a bus to Avilés. It was a 30-minute bus ride as opposed to two walking days. Definitely…

Camino 2022

Camino 2022

Dave and I cancelled plans to walk another Camino twice in the last two years – first because of the pandemic and second because of my health issue that came up last April. Everything is fine now, so we are geared up and excited to return to Spain in September. I am grateful for all the kind thoughts, prayers, and actions by caring friends and family. I know they had a lot to do with this positive outcome. 🙏  We hope…
